It was a great pleasure to be in Sochi, Russia, to give the opening keynote at the International Transport and Logistics Forum. I did not get to race in the F1 with Lewis Hamilton, but I did jog on the Black Sea past the Olympic village and enjoy a beautiful sunset. The Forum was the largest gathering yet of Eurasian transport ministers and executives focused on harmonizing railways and other infrastructure to allow for seamless freight and passenger transit. (Yes, that is a real space shuttle outside the convention center. There was one inside too!) Key themes were financing new investment, ensuring intermodal cooperation, automating logistics management, and digitizing the customer experience. “Spassiba bolshoi” to Russian Railways -- now celebrating its 15th anniversary -- and thank you to the many hosts, sponsors and media from whom I learned the latest plans in integrating Eurasia!
