It was a great honor to join German Chancellor Angela Merkel and other senior European and German political leaders at the Bund Deutscher Industrie (BDI) annual conference. In my keynote I argued that Europe should see itself as a central rather than peripheral player in the emerging geopolitical and geoeconomic order and recommended Europe focus as much or more on relations across Eurasia as across the Atlantic.
