It was a great privilege to be the guest-of-honor at the gala dinner to celebrate the forthcoming Indian Summer Festival in Vancouver, Canada. Following in the footsteps of Sharmila Tagore, Anupam Kher and Deepa Mehta, I am grateful to curator Sirish Rao for his generous hospitality and giving me the opportunity to address Vancouver's leading business, academic and cultural figures on the relevance of The Future is Asian to a multicultural Canada. Thanks also to Stewart Beck of the Asia Pacific Foundation for moderating an excellent discussion, and to acclaimed chef Vikram Vij for a savory menu tailored to the occasion!
